Hiawatha Highlands "elevated by nature"

Offering some of the continent's finest Nordic skiing, Hiawatha Highlands is located in the north end of Sault Ste. Marie.

With 40 km of Nordic Ski trails (2 of which are lighted until 10:00 PM nightly) and 7 km of double track Snowshoeing, traverse the 3,000 acres located just 20 minutes north of the Michigan/Ontario international border.

Our trail system caters to both the beginner and advanced skier and welcomes all types of Nordic skiing. Whatever trail you decide to ski or snowshoe, you will be surrounded by the soothing sounds of the whispering pines, the magnificent views of the ice falls and constant breathtaking scenery of this true winter wonderland.

Indoor facilities are open on a daily basis offering hot and cold beverages, snacks, washroom facilities, rentals, repair, and service.
